MSP REMOTE ACCESS

All information on this page is in reference to Plan First Technologies MSP Remote Access services.

Initial Setup of Your Account

 

1) Request Account Creation

You will fill out the account setup form. Once we receive your information we will create your account and send you an account setup email. 

2) Receive Account Setup Email

Your client account will be created by Plan First Technologies. Once the account is created, you will receive an email to complete your account setup. Click the button in the email to get started.

3) Create A Password

Follow the on-screen instructions to create a secure password. If you forget your password it can be reset by contacting Plan First Technologies.

 

4) MFA Selection

MFA stands for Multi Factor Authentication. This will be an additional code you enter while accessing the portal.

via Text message (SMS) – A code will be texted to your phone. 

*You may have to click “Change Phone” to put your own number in.

via Application (Time Based) –  A code will be sent to a mobile phone application. 

Once your code is entered and successfully verified you will be logged in to the portal.

STARTING A REMOTE SESSION

Once you are logged in you should see the device(s) that you have access to: 

 Click either Blue Button for Splashtop or Teamviewer toward the top of the page (If the remote agent is already installed on your device the session will start, give it at least 20 seconds to make a connection)

* Splashtop

* Teamviewer

You will have to click the link in the dialog box to download and install the remote agent you selected. Click the link and a download will start. Click and run the downloaded file to install.

(This is only a one time thing to get the remote software working).

IF CREDENTIALS ARE REQUIRED: If the installation is requiring credentials such as a username and password to complete the install,  you will need to reach out to an administrator in your office. They will need to enter their admin credentials. If they are not able to grant the access Plan First Technologies will assist with access.

Once it’s installed launch the remote session again by click the Splashtop or Teamviewer button that you clicked earlier. When you click the blue button wait until you see the pop up below and then click “Open” to start the session.

Once the session has started, there will be a  box that pops up which is the remote session. From here it’s just like your sitting at your desk.

MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTER STAYS ON!

Your computer will need to be turned on and stay on in order for you to remote in and successfully work on it. Select your operating system below to see a guide on how to do that for you machine.

CONSISTENT POWER

One of the last things to check is make sure that your device has a reliable source of power. If it’s a laptop make sure it’s plugged in. If the building has spotty power think about getting a battery backup to keep your device up when the power cuts in and out. Hopefully these things will keep you up and running while working from home. Please contact our support with question and concerns.
